On the first Sunday in February 2016, Elder Monfiston accepted the call to serve as pastor of Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church of Gifford. Through his foresight and expertise in grant writing, Mount Olive was officially recognized as a historical property in the state of Florida. Elder Monfiston also led the establishment of Mount Olive Empowerment Ministries, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable arm of the church. Under his leadership, the church has grown physically and spiritually, focusing on discipleship and meeting the needs of the surrounding community. Elder Monfiston is deeply committed to biblical teaching and preaching. His ministry emphasizes being Bible-believing disciples while fostering a Christ-centered mission. Leadership Beyond the Local Church Elder Monfiston is actively involved beyond his local congregation. He serves in the East Florida District Primitive Baptist Association, the Florida State Primitive Baptist Convention, and the National Primitive Baptist Convention. As the first-ever historian of the East Florida District Association, he continues to document and celebrate the church’s rich history. Additionally, he serves as Union #3 President and is a member of the Executive Board of the East Florida Association. Elder Monfiston is also an active member of the Indian River Pastors Association, working collaboratively with local faith leaders to support and strengthen the spiritual and social fabric of the community. Current Role Elder Monfiston currently works as a Senior Financial Specialist for Integrity Accounting Group. His professional and ministerial endeavors demonstrate his commitment to both his faith and his community.
